This program is meant for students who wish to anchor TV programs and are keen to become field reporters. Working professionals who want to upgrade their reporting and anchoring skills and learn more about new production techniques will also find this course extremely useful.
Course content:
Students are taught to write their scripts, use teleprompter and go through confidence-building exercises and grooming classes to improve their screen presence, work on their voice modulations, diction, pauses and pronunciation. They are taught different anchoring genres. They learn different ways to cover a variety of events and happenings in varying environments. The students are made to handle political stories, disaster and soft news, celebrity events, sports, crime and entertainment beats. They can also specialize in any of these areas. Project work will involve making footage in real situations.
The MassCoMedia USP:
Students will get hands-on experience in making commercial quality footage. They will have access to excellent equipment like Sony PD 170 and D55 cameras. They will use virtual studios to learn the techniques they will be using in their career assignments. Students will be given the option of buying and using their own cameras.
